  • Explain the causes of mold claims and possible ways to handle these losses.
  • Describe the physical environment and the loss adjustment environment created by a catastrophe.
  • Describe pre- and post-loss adjustment procedures for a catastrophe.
  • Explain the purpose and operation of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
  • Explain what types of losses are covered under the NFIP policy.
  • Explain loss adjustment procedures under the NFIP.
  • Explain how waiver and estoppel can occur and how they can be avoided.
  • Explain the bases for bad-faith claims and damages.
  • Explain the purpose of an examination under oath (EUO).
  • Explain how an EUO should be demanded and conducted.
  • Explain how to resolve various problems that arise with an EUO.
